Looking for a challenging (but fun) way to work your whole body at home? I’ve been using the Terra Core balance trainer for several years now and it’s been great to mix up my workouts with something so unique! It’s definitely a staple for my at-home workouts. I use it every week!
I know there are lots of random workout equipment options out there and some of them are flat-out ridiculous, but I’ve genuinely loved using my Terra Core! It’s not another gimmicky piece of equipment that I’ll never really use. It’s simple, very effective, and easy to figure out. Plus, since there are over 350 different exercises you can do with it, I have yet to get bored with it.
Here is my comprehensive and honest Terra Core review! If you’re wondering about thoughts on the Terra Glide (Terra Core’s smaller cousin) click here.
My Terra Core Review – 3 Years and counting!
What is the Terra Core?
The Terra Core is essentially a larger version of a Bosu ball, but with handles and more versatility. It has an inflated side and a flat side, both of which you can use for different exercises.
You can use it for…
- Pulling exercises
- Pushing exercises
- Stability exercises
- Balance exercises
- Leg exercises
- Upper body exercises
- Total body exercises
- A bench
- Can be used with other bands or attachments
How Does It Work?
It literally takes minutes to set up your Terra Core. It comes with a small air pump and instruction video, so once you get it blown up you are good to go!
The whole point of the Terra Core is to help you engage your core and stabilization muscles more with each exercise you do with it.
Since it provides an unstable (but safe) surface, this requires you to use more stabilization muscles, balance, and core strength. From a personal trainer’s point of view, this is a VERY good thing as most of us skip stabilization and balance work. Balance, stability, and a strong core are at the very foundation of a functional and fit body!
Is the Terra Core Good for Beginners?
But what if you’re a beginner? The Terra Core has tons of beginner exercises, intermediate, and advanced so no matter where you are in your fitness progress, you can challenge yourself and work on overall strength and stability! Just check out YouTube for tons of workouts.
What I love most about the Terra Core and what I think makes it so genius is the handles. This allows me to do overhead presses, rows, and more.
You can also use basically every other basic type of equipment with it like bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, and TRX bands. You can also use it with pilates and yoga moves which I think is SO cool! I’ve now had my Terra Core for three years and I keep discovering new ways to use it and prevent boredom in my workouts!
See more of my workouts with the Terra Core on my Instagram page here.
How Much Does it weigh?
The Terra Core weighs 28 pounds, making it heavy enough for some upper body workouts but not so heavy it’s impossible to move around. I’ve been able to transport it from the upstairs, downstairs, main floor with no issues.

Is There a Pump?
Yes! You’ll get a free hand pump with your Terra Core purchase along with poster you can use to reference for exercises. The Terra Core pump is easy to use and you can blow it up in minutes. I use it every now and then to refill it when it’s getting low.
Can You Buy it on Amazon?
Yes! It is available on Amazon. However, you can get a discount by purchasing right from the companies website using my code below. You can also check out the Terra Core Reviews on Amazon!
Terra Core vs Terra Glide?
The creators of the Terra Core also have the Terra Glide, but which one should you chose?
Honestly it depends! The Terra Core is larger, doubles as a bench, is heavier, and takes up a little more space. The Terra Glide is smaller, lighter, has wheels, and takes up less space but really needs a hard surface to roll on to get the full use out of it.
I have both and love both for different reasons. Consider what you want to use it for most, your space, and what would ultimately work best for you! You can also read my full Terra Glide review here.
Overall Thoughts?
I’m very happy with my Terra Core. It doesn’t take up too much room, took seconds to set up, and I love that it makes my home workouts more challenging and more interesting! I can get bored pretty quick with home workouts, so this is a huge plus for me.
I also rest easy knowing it has a forever guarantee, so if anything breaks no problem!
