My Real Thoughts About Native Deodorant
I was gifted deodorant from Native, but the thoughts in this blog post are my own.
For the past couple of years I’ve tried to avoid traditional deodorant. At first, it was just because I made the connection that I probably shouldn’t be putting weird chemicals under my arms right where my lymph nodes are.
Then last summer I had a very brief, although still alarming, breast cancer scare. Everything turned out to be fine, but after that, I vowed to NEVER put questionable deodorant near my precious lymph nodes and boobies again.
And for those of you who may not be aware and before you start to worry, there are no studies (that I am aware of) that show a direct link to deodorant and breast cancer. Even cancer.org dispels this so-called myth.
However, for me personally, I want to do all I can to protect myself. From my point of view and with my educational background in health, putting chemicals (even in “safe amounts”) on a sensitive area of the body for a long period of time isn’t a good idea. No matter what current research says, I’d rather be safe than sorry.
Ok back to my story. Over the past two years, I’ve literally tried every kind of “natural” deodorant.
- I tried coconut oil and baking soda. NOPE. Just stained my shirts with coconut oil.
- I tried coconut oil and essential oils. Again no go.
- I tried several brands of natural deodorant, from expensive ones on Amazon to cheap Walmart brand ones.
Nothing worked, in fact, some left me stinkier than if I had no deodorant on at all.
Then I Found Native Deodorant
I had been seeing Native ALL over Facebook and Pinterest, all of the ads and posts bragging about all their 5-star reviews and natural ingredients.
I was still skeptical, but I reached out to them on Instagram asking if they’d be willing to send me a sample in exchange for a review and post on social media.
I didn’t think they’d respond but to my delight, they did and were kind enough to send me not just one scent to try but four!
I had high hopes now. They wouldn’t send me their deodorant for a review if it sucked. Right?
I was right. I applied Native in the morning then went about my routine as normal.
Work, the gym at lunchtime, back to work, home, house chores or various errands, bedtime.
At the end of each day, I would do a smell check. Each day I was fully expecting to stink. After all, I had just gone gone gone all day including a workout and hot end of summer temperatures.
Each day I was soooo pleasantly surprised. NO STINK! NO BAD SMELL!
I either smelled like the yummy scent I had put on that morning or just no smell at all!
It was a flat out miracle.
Almost two months later and I’m still loving Native and am stink free.
What’s in Native Deodorant?
Native has everything you want in a natural deodorant and nothing you don’t.
No parabéns, aluminum, sulfates, or weird chemicals. It does have coconut oil, Jojoba Oil, Shea butter and other soothing ingredients.
It comes in women’s and men’s scents as well as seasonal scents. (My favorites are the lavender and rose and cucumber and mint.) They also have a formula if you have super sensitive skin.
They really do have TONS of 5-star reviews and end up at the top of the list for natural deodorant comparisons.
If you’ve been looking for a natural deodorant or just a deodorant that works (It honestly works better than most traditional deodorants I’ve used over the years) I highly recommend Native.
You can get 10% off your order with fitandwell10. This won’t give me any compensation in any way, they are just really nice to work with and want everyone to try it!

I’ve tried so many natural deodorants and they all didn’t work until I tried Native! I’m so glad it’s working for other people as much as it has for me. (:
